In this video, we walk through three tests historians use to evaluate ancient documents: how many manuscript copies exist, how close those copies are to the original writings, and how accurately the text was passed down. When we apply these same historical tests to the New Testament, Scripture stands in a category of its own.
The New Testament has thousands of Greek manuscripts, thousands more early translations, and over a million quotations from early church fathers. That abundance does not weaken confidence in the Bible. It gives scholars more material to compare so they can identify differences and determine what the original text said.
So, can you trust the Bible? The historical evidence gives strong reasons to say yes. And if the Bible is trustworthy, then Scripture is not merely an ancient document to study. It is God’s Word for you to receive.
