Did you know that past trauma can make you react in ways you do not fully understand? Humans have four typical reactions to frightening situations. They are: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. But God’s Word can heal you!
In this episode, we talk honestly about trauma responses through a Christian lens without making the conversation mystical, trendy, or anti-biblical. Trauma is not rare, and many people carry the effects of painful experiences into later relationships, conflicts, and fears. Whether your response looks like anger, avoidance, freezing, or fawning, this conversation helps you begin to name what is happening with clarity and compassion.
As we examine the four common trauma responses: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn. We also look at biblical examples of each. Specifically, Peter, Jonah, Job, and Abraham to see how real people respond to fear, threat, grief, and pressure. Most importantly, this episode points toward hope: healing from trauma happens in the ultimate safe relationship with Jesus.
We never need to protect ourselves from Him. And God also uses the body of Christ, trusted pastors, counselors, and safe Christian friends to help us relearn that not everyone is unsafe.
If you feel stuck in fear, withdrawal, anger, shutdown, or people-pleasing, this episode is not here to shame you. It is here to help you take one honest next step toward healing, freedom, and deeper trust in God.
