Binmin is a non-profit team of creators that produces clear resources about the Christian life for anyone to access. We create videos, podcast episodes, written material, and courses that explore seven areas of the Christian life: spiritual disciplines, Bible knowledge, discipleship, soul care, apologetics, evangelism, and cultural engagement. We are committed to understanding how to live out the Christian faith and sharing it’s life-changing power to others.
Dr. Bob Martin III (Pops) is a content creator and co-founder of Binmin. A retired triple board-certified medical doctor (M.D.) with more than 30 years of practice, he also has a master’s degree in religion (Southern Evangelical Seminary). He has taught about the Christian spiritual life for more than twenty-five years in high school, church, and seminary settings. His wife, four adult children, two daughters-in-law, and grandchildren are his greatest earthly treasures.
Bob Martin IV makes creative content for Binmin and loves setting up processes for the team. Bob has two degrees in biblical studies (Biola University, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) and has worked in church ministry for over nine years. He adores his wife and daughters, once lived in England, and is a sucker for food documentaries.
Dave Martin is a co-founder of Binmin and oversees fundraising and strategic planning. He has degrees in theology (Biola University) and business finance (Colorado State University). Dave currently heads up the sales department of a tech startup and actively volunteers in worship at his church. He and his wife have a love for foster care and adventuring in Colorado with their daughter and extended family.
Dr. Joseph “J.J.” Williamson is on the Board of Directors of Binmin and enjoys serving the ministry in various ways. As a double board-certified Doctor of Osteopathic medicine (D.O.). He also has taken classes in Christian apologetics. After many years of philosophical, theological, and scientific investigation, it was evident to him that Christianity stood alone as the one true worldview. He is very active serving in his church. And his wife, son, and parents are his greatest blessings. He loves playing cricket and has done martial arts for nearly 30 years.
In ancient Israel, Jerusalem was destroyed, and three young men were taken captive to the city of Babylon. They were commanded to bow before an idol or be thrown alive into a fiery furnace. Their response?
“[O]ur God whom we serve is able to deliver us … But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up” (Daniel 3:16-18 ESV).
Those three words—“but if not”—mean a lot. The men at the furnace were declaring that, even if they were young, they lived for something, and they were willing to die for it as well. This story and this conviction are the basis for Binmin (“But If Not” Ministry): that men and women would find what’s worth living for and the next steps for making their spiritual life more important to them. We will all have a “but if not” moment: what matters is if we are ready to meet it.
We know it. Binmin has an unusual name. It comes from the shortening “But If Not” Ministry, because we were inspired by the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace (Daniel 3). These young men tell the king that God can save them, “but if not” they will still not bow to an idol.
This type of “but if not” faith is what we want to characterize our spiritual lives and those who interact with Binmin. Read about the meaning of our name on the About page.
Binmin is an independent non-profit and non-denominational parachurch ministry organization. We love building relationships and partnerships with churches and other ministries but aren’t affiliated with a particular denomination. Our resources reflect our Statement of Beliefs.
Binmin was founded by Pops, Bob, and Dave Martin to support men and women in finding their clear next steps in their spiritual life. But this ministry happens because of the supporters, followers, and viewers who are taking these resources and living them out to make their spiritual lives more important to them.
